Why I Wear a Uniform
Posted in Politics, War with tags army, combat, epw, gitmo, iraq, military, pow, terrorist, war crime on January 27, 2009 by RichMy First Look At IDPA
Posted in Uncategorized on April 5, 2008 by RichIDPA stands for International Defensive Pistol Association. You should Google it, and better yet Youtube it and watch videos. It looks like everything IPSC was before you had to be a millionaire to shoot, and more.
It is late, I have to go to bed. I’ll edit this tomorrow some time. I had a good time today watching, and if I can work out the work schedule, I’m going to start shooting.
Note From Rich on 8 April: I never got around to adding to this, because I didn’t shoot that day. I plan to next month, so if you care about IDPA or handgun games in general, you might like to check in then. I’ll tell you all I can about how it went.
On Feathers and Dinosaurs
Posted in History, Religion, Uncategorized with tags birds, dinosaurs, evolution, fossils on February 23, 2008 by RichWhile I’m on a roll tonight, let me just get this off of my chest also: if it has feathers, it is a bird. So if you read anything about some new, four-winged dinosaur called a microraptor, or some such nonsense, remember that the deliniating fact that separates birds from dinosaurs (which are all reptiles, I believe) is that birds have feathers.
If it has feathers, it is a bird. Even if the skeleton is similar to that of a lizard.
Oh, and by the way, this remarkable fossil was found in China. There is a whole underground industry there for faked fossils. If you are interested in this kind of stuff, particularly if you are interested in reading some sound, scientific information about the whole creation vs. evolution debate from a christian point of view check out www.answersingenesis.com . Bring your thinking cap though. This isn’t your average, sunday school, Noah’s Ark, felt board source of information. Real scientists and real science.
That’s all for now.
